Enhancement to Usage Reporting Function on SAGE Journals Online If you access usage reports from SAGE Journals Online you may be interested in the recent enhancement. Previously, when you clicked on usage reports the default setting was to produce a usage report for the current month. The interface has now been improved so that when you click on the usage report link you will receive the "subscriptions I administer" page. This page now features the usage reports menu where you can choose which usage report you want for a specified time period. In addition, there will be a checkbox to email the tab-delimited report regardless of how many subscriptions you have (Reports with more than 200 subscriptions will still be sent via email regardless of whether this box is checked). Additionally, you can enter the email address where the report should be sent. It will default to the primary account administrator but can be changed to any email address. This will enable you to delegate the report being sent to a different email address rather than your own if you wish. We hope you will find this enhancement useful. SAGE signs major nationwide agreements for the German academic sector SAGE and the Bavarian State Library (Munich) on behalf of the German Research Foundation, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), have completed a three-year nationwide licensing agreement. SAGE content is now available to universities and other publicly-financed research institutions in Germany. This agreement is embedded in an initiative to improve access to specialized electronic resources for German universities, research institutes and academic libraries, financially supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and coordinated by major research libraries like the Bavarian State Library. Over 170 German academic institutions, governmental institutions and major research centres, including the Max Planck Society, can now access SAGE Premier – a leading collection of over 480 journals in business, humanities, social sciences, science, technology and medicine. The agreement also includes access to the SAGE Shallow Backfile (1999-2006). This is part of a pilot project to provide nationwide access to current content collections with financial support from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. SAGE is a long-established leader in the social sciences, and has more recently developed a flourishing collection of science, technology and medical journals, bringing a broad range of high quality peer-reviewed journals – and over 177,000 articles – to the German research community. “This agreement with SAGE is an important and highly desired step in the evolution of our digital procurement strategy for the German research community,” stated Johannes Fournier, Programme Director Electronic Publications, DFG. “We are very pleased with the constructive manner in which the library and publishing communities worked together and helped us in achieving our goals.” A further agreement has been made enabling an outright purchase of the SAGE Deep Backfile – 367 SAGE journal backfiles from volume 1 issue 1 to 1998, containing over 371,000 research articles. “We’re delighted that SAGE content is now available to this research community,” commented Clive Parry, Sales and Marketing Director, SAGE. He continued, “SAGE strives to make content as widely visible and accessible as possible, so that researchers can find the content they need quickly and efficiently. By facilitating access to both our current and backfile content, the DFG have enabled us to offer a significantly-enhanced service to the German research community.”
